Assist superintendents with evaluating new ground water and/or surface water sources to meet turfgrass irrigation demand.  Evaluate existing sources in terms of adequacy and resiliency, recommend potential options to pursue to augment and optimize water sourcing supply.  Evaluate water quality of existing sources and recommend alternatives to address issues possibly resulting from elevated metals or other raw water constituents.


New source siting and development/Permitting

Add new or replacement wells or surface water intakes, coordination, permitting and compliance with regulating agencies.  We will work with you and your irrigation consultant to add or modify existing water sourcing to support new or enhanced irrigation, such as pump station replacements, or irrigation system replacements, enhancements/expansions or newly added acreage requiring additional source capacity.  We can also assist with water allocation permit renewals.

Development of new or expanded storage

Work with you to evaluate current system storage with respect to peak and average irrigation demand.  Optimize water sourcing and routing to estimate total storage requirements, and work with you to develop new storage (i.e. lined or unlined ponds) that efficiently utilize existing sources (i.e. surface water skimming intakes, conjunctive ground water surface water use).  We can assist in initial siting of storage locations, topographic surveying, development of scope, schedule, costs and specifications, site meetings and oversight of contractors, and preparation of final technical reporting and permit application submissions.

Regulatory Compliance

Assist in fulfilling permit conditions, including quarterly water use reporting, filing well records or abandonment permits, corrected pond and consumptive use calculations, and resolution of Notice of Violations (NOV's) for potential failure to address historical or current permit conditions.  We can assist with compliance audits and responses for information to fulfill outstanding compliance requirements.  We also prepare water conservation plans and conduct meter calibrations, verifications and/or replacements as required.  We have relationships with several NJ State approved analytical laboratories and conduct quarterly or annual sampling for chlorides or other permit required parameters.
